I keep getting asked this question, so I figured I’d post it here.

Gmail will no longer allow Less Secure Apps to send emails via their web service and we would like to know if there is a way to continue using gmail

the answer is yes - use App passwords. We walk through the process in this webinar, around the 23 minute mark. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO5Uuyhgfiw). The lead up to that is a discussion of using email in general, and your options for moving away from Gmail.

The biggest trap is that if you don’t have 2 step verification turned on, you don’t get access to App passwords. From a support perspective, you normally end up assisting a customer to turn on 2 step so you can create an app password.
