How do I get the page total up in a separate column

If I have understood you correctly there are two ways to do it:

either add up the line items for each order at runtime and place them in the browse

or

store the total at the order level. This requires updating the order total each time a line item is added, changed or deleted but means you don’t have to tally at runtime to display on your browse.
