Hi
I had a clarion update form which I can not remove the black area, I had change the background color, still can not fix it. Please see attach image
Does anyone face this before?

I forget the details but iirc at one point 10-20 years ago transparency changed.
You might want to add a manifest to your program
You have set 0{PROP:Color}=Color:Black in code. Note Color Black = Zero so 0{PROP:Color}=0 will do it too.
You can have a Zero FEQ and accidentally change the Window instead of a Control if you forget a Question Mark (?)
If code is Pre:Name{PROPColor}
instead of ?Pre:Name{PROPColor}.
If Pre:Name is a STRING it will evaluate to Zero and change the Window
Curious what your Window looks like if you Preview it from the Window Designer? If you had the Black in preview that would indicate its in the Window Code.
Hi all,
Thanks your help. But it does not work. I had check my code, it does not has such statement to declare the color.
In my other apps, which use the same code, it does not have such situation. Also in the design screen, I had change the black color to white, it does not affect.
Don’t know why this happen.

Does the window appear black in the window formatter WHEN you use the Window Preview?
What about when you try all combinations of
Switch Suppress Transparency and
Switch Use Visual Styles?
If the problem is in code, then the window should look normal at the very beginning
Maybe try adding a MESSAGE(‘is the window black?’) immediately after the OPEN(Window)
If it’s still black
then please post your window structure here
so we can better help you
I seem to remember a problem with black like that in some builds. I can’t remember which though.
What build are you on?
7u8888888Hi all
I use clarion 10 ver 12799. I also attach the screen design form and source code.
I also upload the screen layout source code :
screen source.txt (51.2 KB)
Thanks your help

I could not reproduce your original picture with the Black frame using 0{PROP:Color}=0, it just made almost the entire window Black.
What did make it have the black frame was putting this BOX or LINE first. The Line Width is 3 x 285 the Window Height. Seems possible an Image could also do it.
BOX,AT(0,0),FULL,USE(?AllBlackBox) ,COLOR(COLOR:Black) ,FILL(COLOR:Black)
or
LINE,AT(0,0,491,0),USE(?AllBlackLine) ,COLOR(COLOR:Black) ,LineWidth(835)
Here you see the BOX in Designer and a Preview:
So if that was done at runtime by a CREATE(,Create:Box,0,1) that would explain it.
The way to know is to add a button that enumerates all your controls, the types and AT position using PROP:NextField. Here’s some code I made for someone, not sure its been tested.:
DebugControlListRtn ROUTINE
DATA
F LONG
TypeName STRING(24)
CtrlType LONG
MoreDebug PSTRING(255)
CODE
LOOP
F=0{PROP:NextField,F} ; IF ~F THEN BREAK.
CtrlType = F{PROP:Type}
TypeName=CHOOSE(BAND(CtrlType,0FFh)+1,'Window', |
'SString','String','Image','Region','Line','Box','Ellipse','Entry','Button','Prompt',| !1-10
'Option','Check','Group','List','Combo','Spin','Text','Custom','Menu','Item',| !11-20
'Radio','MenuBar','Create23','Application','Window','Report','Header','Footer','Break','Form',| !21-30
'Detail','Ole','Droplist','Dropcombo','Progress','Slider','Sheet','Tab','Panel','TextRtf',| !31-40
'Text_SingleLine','Check3','Type?' & CtrlType)
MoreDebug=''
CASE CtrlType
OF CREATE:box
OROF CREATE:image
OROF Create:Line
GetPosition(), Prop:Color and Prop:Fill to format into MoreDebug
END
DebugOut('FEQ '& F &' '& CtrlType &' '& CLIP(TypeName) &' '& MoreDebug &' '& F{PROP:Text} )
END
My Window Preview Class will show you this and more. Because the below capture is from a Preview it has V## for all USE(variables)
