550 5.6.11 SMTPSEND.BareLinefeedsAreIllegal; message contains bare linefeeds, which cannot be sent via DATA and receiving system does not support BDAT
“This error occurs when the email program or device used to create or send an email message adds bare line feed characters into the message. When bare line feed characters are included in a message, the SMTP protocol chunking feature is required to transmit the message between email servers. Chunking uses the SMTP protocol BDAT command, but the recipient’s email server doesn’t support the BDAT command.”
They say it is the subject, but that is just a single line.
We are using NetTalk here 9.13. To my knowledge, a single LF does not even exists in my program.
There was a bug along those lines, but it was fixed a long time ago. Unfortunately it’s not mentioned specifically in the release notes, and I’ve no idea what version it was in. I’m guessing something after 9.13.
I recommend for starters you updating to 9.31, but even that is 10 years old now. Still, you might be lucky.
The build you are using turns 10 years old in September, so I guess it’s impressive that it’s functioned as long as it has.
Thank you, I was afraid of that. The program is primarily in maintance mode and I am afraid to upgrade and find out it breaks accessoires that are no longer supported.
But I won’t do the same job twice, so full upgrade is the only option.
NetTalk have quite a few dependencies now. It looks like I need to upgrade NetTalk to 14, upgrade StringTheory from 2.5, buy JFiles, download Reflection.
Hopefully not to many surprises in the coding area.
Edit: I thought I used NetTalk for everything net, but it looks like all I use now is e-mail. Must reflect on that.
