# Opening URL in default browser

Morning

I need a way to open a url in default browser by clicking a link/button in a Clarion window. I have tried simply using ‘RUN’ and that works fine with standard website addresses e.g. ‘[WWW.ggogle.com](http://WWW.ggogle.com)’ but when I try a URL such as ‘[https://meet.google.com/oaj-yabe-yme?](https://meet.google.com/oaj-yabe-yme?)’ it doesn’t do anything.

Can anyone explain how to fix it or give me an alternative method please?

Prior topic may have what you need. ShellExecute is the normal way.

Here is a little template and app we used for years, no idea where it came from.  
Hope it helps.  
But yes, ShellExecute is the method it uses..

Register the template and then you can use control or code templates.
