If you could please ask the question for me…
According to the blog source code string constants can have a Euro Sign in UTF-16 as u’<20ACh>’ or u’<8364>’ ?
For characters above the BMP is there a syntax for UTF-32 ?
The reason I ask is I don’t need international text, but I do want to use Emojis and Symbols that are often 32 bit.
On the Web you can find a Smiling Emoji specified as U+1F60A. These exact digits can be coded in C# as ‘\U0001F60A’ i.e. a Capital “\U” followed by 8 hex digits.
Using UTF-16 surrogate pairs its u’<0D83Dh><0DE0Ah>’ which is not obvious that it was U+1F60A.
Does / will / can Clarion have an easy way to specify UTF-32 constants?
