Turning jsmodule off works, but i get a timeout after about 10.000 messages from a group

I had that issue too. Kept pressing “get messages” until it was done. Not sure the proper way to get around that.

Hi,
I was using Thunderbird to read the SV Newsgroups (NNTP). Seems like about 9 months ago, they became unusable. The message ID (or pointer) gets downloaded but not the Title or text and when the body of the message is requested, it just hangs… tried Agent. Ended up using the Capesoft NNTP server to roll my own NG Reader. It downloads the entire Message up front. I have separated the parts and did some linking so I can see posts related to each other. Not the greatest but at least I can see the messages. Have not found it of high enough value to write the code to POST a message or reply to NGs.

I still use the old 40tude Dialog. It was never code signed, but install it to C:\40tude and it works fine there without virtualization.

Many thanks for that information! I downloaded and set up MesNews and now I feel “re-connected” to the newsgroup!
