Long term COBOL programmer working in banking, financial accounting, and medical distribution. Added Clarion in the early 90’s. At first I just used the IDE and data dictionary and wrote templates to generate all of my COBOL apps other than the procedural code. Then it was easier to use Clarion apps for file maintenance etc. In 2000 I wrote a COBOL + Clarion application for a major international bank. By mid 2000 all of the COBOL code was gone. My company used this application to provide credit card incentive support for two groups of banks in 20 countries. This ended in 2021 as the credit card processors developed the capability of offering this service to their banks.

Presently more retired than I want to be and am looking for remote development work in either language.
