Commission bases sales and marketing

Anyone ever use an independent sales and marketing person?
I don’t want some sales team that is going to spam people.

Does this arrangement work?
How did you locate someone?

What sector is your software aimed at.

Some sectors, are very restricted in what they can and cant do in different parts of the world.

Can you elaborate?

Like what sector, value of product/service, are you looking for low level support issues to be handled by them.

If its any consolation, the US Govt shutdown means, everyone is having to use TurboTax to file their returns… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It is business tax reporting sector (1099s, W2s).
US businesses and tax preparers is the target market.

No support - but knowing the product is needed.

This company : Sage Group - Wikipedia

got big because they do accountancy and payroll software. Not the only one’s in the UK but they bought up some smaller & better accountancy packages and payroll packages to shelve.

They also approached all the accountancy firms in the UK and offered them the Accountants package, which enabled accountants to do their clients accounts, but the catch was their clients also needed to be running Sage software.

It meant accountants could offer their clients, typically businesses, an accountancy program and payroll program with a small discount ~10-15%.

Most people who start up a business or run a business listen to their accountants, so the accountants did alot of the direct selling.

Maybe you should do a “sales package” for those people who could be using your software, like the tax preparers/accountants who can then do the direct selling for you?

They will afterall have knowledge of what they need to do and thus to some extent your software as well, plus targetting one of them, ie one accountant, could mean selling multiple licences to their clients.
