I don’t know if anyone else has the same issue.
Every now and then I need to ask Softvelocity about things. E.g. my account, downloads etc..
It is very hard to contact them.
I hardly get an answer when I email them.
They have an email addres like [email protected] but I think hardly anyone checks the in-box and or takes time, or has the decency to reply to these mails.
Maybe someone with influence reads this and can ask them to do so.
Looks like you are a young fellow.. It’s like that since I remember.
Only they know why is that.
If I do not answer to my customer, he will walk away.
Nobody know why we (Clarioneers) stay with them all years (and decades)..
In the old days of clarion 2 for DOS when you bought one copy you got one free.. you could ring up and chat to Bruce.. now you get to chat maybe the other Bruce…
Your best bet is to expose your clarion directory to WSL and point Claude Code at it and get it to run some tools over it to answer your questions… now if AI cant read the clarion language save the PDF as text files get AI to split them and turn them into claude MD flles… and your away with AI with random access to clarion language files and other structures ect…
It will make you feel like someone is responding to your questions even if reall they arnt…
MD files At Session Launch
All memory files are automatically loaded into Claude Code’s context when launched. Claude Code reads memories recursively: starting in the cwd, Claude Code recurses up to / and reads any CLAUDE.md or CLAUDE.local.md files it finds.
File Discovery Pattern
Current directory upward: Searches from current working directory up to root (/) for CLAUDE.md and CLAUDE.local.md files
Subtree discovery: Claude will also discover CLAUDE.md nested in subtrees under your current working directory. Instead of loading them at launch, they are only included when Claude reads files in those subtrees.
Import Files
CLAUDE.md files can now import other files. Add @path/to/file.md to ./CLAUDE.md to load additional files on launch
Manual Loading
Use /memory command during session to open memory files
Clarion is an extremely small company and tends to take long periods for responses. When it was TopSpeed their entire tech support was the newsgroups and message boards and a team of developers that weren’t employed. That was Team Topspeed and I was a member.
The best place to ask technical questions is here and the newsgroups. Folks will take time to provide answers although, as before, it may take time before you get the information you need. BUT, even though it maybe slow it will happen. As to other queries it may still be your best bet.
I understand that this doesn’t help in your current situation but it’s the same place we all habitat and we do tend to share our time when asked.
So, if it’s technical, ask here or on the newsgroups and hang on.
Notice I said EXTREMELY small. Low head count means slow responses especially when they’re probably overwhelmed by email.
Granted, it’s frustrating, but usually a reply, although late, does appear unless that email got flagged as spam for whatever reason. I tend to communicate directly with Z and, yes, often it takes a while to get a response.
I understand your frustration since, being 3rd party, I also tend to have a lot of email to reply to but some days all I want to do is stay in bed! I’m older!!! and once I get through the email I have gotten accustomed to WANTING to turning this spawn of Satan machine off for the day!
