Forgive me for posting this. But. (There's always a but...)

Clarion programmers are… dare I say it… old.

Some of you may be old enough to remember the original “gate”. Before RussiaGate, BridgeGate, before we’d heard of Bill Gates, and before the ongoing compulsion with which our newsies tend to label whatever outrages them as the latest WhateverGate… there was the grand pappy of all the Gates.

And some of the merry band arrested in conjunction with that original gate of all gates were affectionately referred to as plumbers.

And… those of very ripe age and whip-sharp memory will recall that at least one of said plumbers had previously played for the CIA in such triumphs as the Bay of Pigs.

And so, elderly Clarion people, as I don’t post on Facebook I couldn’t think of anyone else with whom to share my holiday mirth as I received today the following in an email from LinkedIn.

The juxtaposition, albeit ephemeral, is truly classic.

Ah yes, E Howard Hunt and the plumbers
If you’re into that episode in history Garrett Graff has a great book on the subject, also covers the Spiro Agnew corruption charges and how Gerald Ford became the only President that no one voted for

I see their AI training has made it to the early 70s.

Wait until it hits the 60s.
