I am looking for a Microsoft Explorer kind of app where the metadata like Author can bee seen en searched for. My clarion app uses the file system a lot. On merging html and rtf documents ie author is filled to, but Microsoft Explorer won’t show this. It doesn’t even show a pdf file author. Docx and xls do work.
Any ideas

Yup, using Active Scripting Windows Search add-on it is possible to find the documents by metadata like author etc, just tested.

I have a browse list in my app that shows the PDF reports created by the user. I use QuickPDF to get the Author, Title, Pages and other information from the PDF files. I use DIRECTORY to get the file list and populate an InMemory file for the browse list.

Also, if you use Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro, there is a Search tool which will search all the PDF files in a folder and/or its subfolders and look for something including in the Author field and rank the results.
