I’ve been trying to access Softvelocity Problem Tracker page for the past few days, but the site cannot be reached.
Any reason/Clue?

Why do SV still use http instead of https? Anyone can do a Man in the Middle.

Years ago I searched for VPN vendors who would allow the nntp protocol through to their news servers to avoid MITMs on the newsgroup posts but I never found any.

This was prompted after I’d downloaded the news server onto a new machine and @mikehanson post on the C6 ng iirc explaining how to calc and stuff a 64bit number into a ulonglong or longlong was different on the 2nd download. I had that code in one of my apps and it was different to the code in my app.

Are you suggesting that is a more likely solution than there being a bunch of trolls somewhere who get their jollies subtly changing code that people post on obscure programming newsgroups? Surely not!
