Company in Durban looking for a Clarion developer

Someone in the Durban area (South Africa) has contacted me, to ask if we can help with their Clarion system. They don’t have any contact with the original developer and would like to make changes. Please send me an email to [email protected] so that I can share their information.

Thanks

why would they just not go straight to CapeSoft?

Firstly, its worth noting that Incasu (Thys) is the Clarion distributer in South Africa. Hence him being everyones natural point of first contact.

Secondly, he may have. I field calls from folk like this several times a year. We take on some of them, but most arent for us, for a variety of reasons.

The most obvious limiting factor is budget. We have main-lines of business, so side-work like this comes with opportunity cost, which in turn makes us expensive. Single contract-type developers, with low overheads are more suited to people whose experience of cost lies with low-overhead contractors.

The other limiting factor is time. If you call when things are slow, you’re more likely to “get-in” than when things are already overloaded.

Aside; i do get these calls from time to time. And i also get calls from developers looking for contract assistence (especially with NetTalk work). If you are interested in contract work feel free to let me know and i can put you in my Send-To list…

Thanks Bruce.

From the responses that I got, there is still a big crowd of developers actively working with Clarion. But there seems to be less people than before that have Clarion systems running in their businesses. So, a request like this is valuable to let the business world know that we are still very capable of providing industry standard software with Clarion. And ClarionHub seems to be the ideal place to advertise these opportunities.
